SEVERN, Md. — Two people are suffering life threatening injuries after being shot during a Thanksgiving community football game in Severn.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, officers responded at around 1:39 p.m. in the area of Meade Village Road and Meade Village Circle in Severn. Upon arrival, they located the two victims suffering from gunshot wounds that appear to be life-threatening.

“During the game at some point in argument ensued which resulted in unfortunately shots being fired,” said Sgt. Kam Cook from the Anne Arundel County Police Department

The victims were transported to local hospitals.

Officials say preliminary information indicates this was a targeted incident.

“We really urge the community to provide any information if possible they can do so by way of the tip line which is 410-222-4700,” Sgt. Cook said.
