Asst. Fire Chief dies on duty after suffering medical emergency

The Assistant Chief of a Maryland Volunteer Fire Company has died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty.

On Saturday, Assistant Chief Daniel Lister of the Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company was on the scene of a car crash involving multiple entrapped occupants on MD Rt 404 at Old Queen Anne Road.

While on location, Lister suffered a medical emergency. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Lister was pronounced deceased at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in Easton.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
