Here at WMAR-2 News, we believe every child deserves to learn and grow through reading.

Children living in poverty begin their lives with a host of disadvantages, among them, poor literacy skills.

These statistic are why we are joining forces with Fulton Bank and the Scripps Howard Foundation to buy books for students.

Starting on August 31, 2020, we are collecting donations for the “If You Give a Child a Book”campaign.

We have a partnership with Scholastic, to get each book at a great price.

Books will be distributed to Baltimore schools on National Reading Day. So help give the gift of learning and donate here.

The Scripps Howard Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The E.W. Scripps Company, the parent company of WMAR.
