The holiday travel rush is getting closer, and Thanksgiving is already next week!
BWI Airport is implementing some temporary changes to make it a bit easier for travelers.
From Wednesday through January 15, travelers can park in the hourly lot for free for one hour. This is to keep people out of the main terminal arrival and departure area, hoping to alleviate traffic this holiday season.
Also, hotel shuttles and off-site parking shuttles will drop off and pick up on the departure level above to keep traffic from piling up, and they are adding 50 parking spaces to the cell phone lot. The airport is hoping this will encouraging family and friends to use the lot while waiting to pick up their loved ones.
As always, BWI wants to remind anyone picking up a passenger to not park at the terminal drop off or pick up areas for safety reasons and to keep traffic from building up.
