What was originally a call for a drug complaint in a Laurel Hotel room turned into the discovery of three girls believed to be human trafficked by two men for prostitution.

Officials say they reported to the scene of a drug complaint on January 11 around 7:56 a.m. when detectives at the scene found three young girls believed to be human trafficked for prostitution.

Detectives at the scene determined the girls to be 15, 16, and 17-years-old. They later transported the teens to the Laurel Police Department where Child Protective Services took them into custody.

After investigating the incident, in collaboration with other agencies, investigators were able to arrest and charge 25-year-old Sean Dean and 28-year-old Gerald Dawayne Marshall with three counts of Human Trafficking and two counts of Prostitution under 16.

Anyone with additional information related to this incident is encouraged to call the Laurel Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at (301) 498-8002.
