The Anne Arundel County Fire Department's special operations team sprang into action Friday after a 911 call for a man needing help off a roof.
The man fell on the roof of the Outback Steakhouse on the 7700 block of Ritchie Highway.
When fire crews arrived they found a 55-year-old man with injuries that prevented him from getting off the roof using a ladder.
That's when the special operations team brought in apparatus to help get the man down and to the hospital.
Truck 31, from the Brooklyn Station, was used as a hoist and rope system to lower the man from the roof.
He was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
