The first thing you'll notice when you walk into Chuy's in Annapolis are the bright colors. The funky tiles, the multi-color seats and the beautiful wooden fish hanging from the ceiling keep your eyes darting from one place to the next.

Chuy's is the newest restaurant to open in Annapolis at the Festival at Riva shopping center. It is a national chain with more than 90 restaurants coast to coast. This is their second location in Maryland.

Chuy's is known for fresh, handmade Tex-Mex menu items. They make the tortillas from scratch. General manager Jeffrey Sheehan says they're never more than 30 minutes old by the time they reach your plate. Sheehan says the freezer at the restaurant is smaller than the one in his house. Its as fresh as you can be.

In addition to making fresh dishes, Chuy's is also focused on giving back to the community. Each restaurant partners with a local charity of its choice. The Chuy's in Annapolis has decided to partner with the Bowen Foundation. It started back in 2007 and mostly serves families living in Anne Arundel County who have children with autism.

Chuy's has already raised money for the Bowen Foundation. At the Art in the Park event, Chuy's took donations in exchange for kids decorating their own wooden fish. Those fish now hang on the ceiling at the restaurant.
