A man hit by a police car is in critical condition.
It happened at 6:56 p.m. Sunday on Ft. Smallwood Road near Elizabeths Landing Way in Pasadena.
A witness driving in the same area reported just missing hitting the man as he crossed the road moments before he saw a police car hit him.
The 40-year-old man was taken to Shock Trauma with critical injuries.
Police Officer Beavers was treated for minor injuries.
Anne Arundel County Police said the person in the road did not yield to traffic and was not in a crosswalk. Speed and alcohol are not factors in this crash.
The officer is a 5 year veteran with the police department.
