Hurricane Florence is impacting Assateague State Park through the weekend.
It's closed now until Monday at 2 p.m. because of the potentially dangerous conditions.
The Department of Natural Resources says this closure may be extended if the conditions from the storm persist or if damage is significant.
Assateague's staff will assess the damage and the park will re-open when it's safe.
