A vehicle wanted in a Maryland homicide is recovered after a man operating it leads police in Virginia on a multi-city car chase.

On Sunday, the Virginia State Police received a ' Be On The Lookout (BOLO)' from the Prince George's County Police Department in Maryland regarding a 2014 gold four door Kia Spectra wanted in connection to a homicide.

Virginia State Police say shortly after receiving the alert, authorities spotted a vehicle meeting the description on Route 58 in the city of Suffolk. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which refused and began to flee.

Police pursued the vehicle through Suffolk into the city of Portsmouth, and into the downtown tunnel where the driver crashed. He was then taken into custody and transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The man is expected to be transferred to Prince George's County and will likely face charges for the pursuit and collision.

Prince George's County Police would not release the identity of the man, or if he is being charged in the murder, only saying "we can confirm that we have located a wanted vehicle with assistance of VSP (Virginia State Police)."
