BEL AIR, Md. — Maryland State Police arrested and charged a 22-year-old Harford County man for distribution and possession of child pornography.
According to officials, in June 2019 troopers from the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began an online investigation on the distribution and possession of child pornography.
Their investigation led them to the home of Christian Shoap after they obtained media files of child pornography being distributed online. Police conducted a search and seizure warrant at Shoap's residence and seized devices that had multiple child pornography files.
Shoap was arrested at his home without incident and taken to the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack for processing. He has been charged with four counts of distribution of child pornography and nine counts of possession of child pornography.
