EDGEWATER, Md. — A 69-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision with an SUV Tuesday afternoon in Edgewater.
At about 3:40 p.m., Anne Arundel County Firefighters arrived to Central Avenue and Mayo Road for a reported vehicle collision that involved a motorcycle.
When firefighters arrived to the scene, they located a two-vehicle accident and, according to witnesses, the motorcycle struck the side of the SUV in the intersection. Following the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected.
The motorcyclist was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, and the 17-year-old female passenger of the SUV was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.
The 18-year-old female, who was driving the SUV, did not have any injuries that required hospital transport.
