PIKESVILLE, Md. — A 76-year-old man has died from a fire in Pikesville Wednesday night, officials say.
That man was identified as Thomas Poe from Pikesville.
Fire crews responded to the 500 block of Shamrock Lane at 9:25 p.m., for the report of a house fire.
Firefighters entered the home and found Poe in cardiac arrest in a second-floor bedroom.
He was removed and take to a hospital where he later died.
Baltimore County fire investigators ruled this an accidental fire caused by an electrical malfunction. A female resident in the home was able to escape the fire without injury.
This is the 10th fire fatality in 2024.
