We know Mr. John. Everybody knew Mr. John. He was from the Harris family that has deep, deep roots in Harford County.
Last week, Mr. John Albert Harris had a heart attack and died at the age of 77. Our hearts are broken.
After a tour in the Army, Mr. John came home to start Riverside Elementary School. He worked at that school for 43 years. What an impact on the kids he watched grow up, to the Joppatowne community he loved.
On Saturday, a Line of Love will form at 1:30 p.m. A procession will wind its way from Route 7 to 152, JoppaFarm Road to Stillmeadow where the school sits.
We will stand out in front of school to watch this man pass on his way home.
