SPARROWS POINT, Md — Amazon held the grand opening of its newest fulfillment center Tuesday.
The facility launched in September 2018, just in time for the holiday shopping season. More than 2,000 full-time employees pick, pack and ship orders for customers.
"We launched this building in Sparrows Point to strengthen our fulfillment network and better serve our customers across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic Region," said an Amazon representative. "This building features Amazon robotics technology and innovative processes that enable our associates to exceed customers expectations."
The fulfillment center in Sparrows Point is the third on in Maryland. The other two are located in Baltimore and North East.
