Annapolis man arrested for an illegal handgun after telling police he had drugs

ANNAPOLIS, Md — Annapolis Police arrested a man Wednesday night for possession of drugs and an illegal handgun.

Officers were paroling the area of the 1100 block of Madison Street, when they noticed a group of people standing in the area. During a discussion, 20-year-old Michael Gibson of Annapolis admitted to possessing illegal drugs and handed officers approximately 5 grams of suspected crack cocaine.

Police searched him and found a loaded handgun that was reported stolen in West Virginia.

A report states, Gibson was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm in commission of a drug trafficking crime, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of illegal drugs with intent to distribute and 4 other related charges.
