Deals you should cash in on this holiday shopping season

As Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season, Thursday also is the beginning of the biggest shopping weekend of the year.

It's estimated that shoppers will drop more than $800 at stores and online from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

And the hot item on everyone's list... electronics.

Best Buy will be opening up its doors at 5 p.m., just in time to go for that second serving of turkey or finish off a slice of pie. This will be the best time to find the best prices on electronics all year and experts say the best deals to be found will be on TV's, but you should do your research first.

Even large screen HD 4K TV's can be found for under $200 at stores this weekend. The latest model TV's might not always be the cheapest ones, so just make sure you know exactly what type you want first before hitting the checkout line in-store or putting it in your cart online.

Headphones, smart watches, and home devices are other items you'll find at rock-bottom prices this season.

"Last year, Best Buy had up to 70 percent off on doorbusters," explained Sara Skirboll, shopping expert at Retail Me Not. "Now I anticipate Best Buy is going to have deals all weekend long, they might not be upwards of 70 percent off, but they will probably be around 30, 40, 50 percent off"

Some other big stores opening up later on Thursday include Walmart, Target, Sears, Macy's, and JC Penney.
