What's better than combining free pancakes with charity?
IHOP does this several times a year, encouraging customers to donate to a worthy cause in exchange for a free short stack.

Tuesday, March 8, is National Pancake Day, and participating IHOP restaurants are giving out a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. In return, guests will be asked to donate to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals or other designated local charities.
Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly $20 million for charities, according to the restaurant. The goal this year is $3.5 million.
