Mercedes-Benz is recalling about 1 million cars and SUVS worldwide
The German Automaker said a starter part can overheat and cause fires.
Certain C-Class, E-Class and CLA cars, as well as GLA and GLC SUVs from model years 2015 to 2017 are included in the recall - which affects nearly 308,000 vehicles in the U.S.
Mercedes-Benz reported 51 fires caused by the starter parts, but no injuries.
Owners will be notified about the recall this month and again in July when replacement parts are available.
The replacement part will be free and the process will take around one hour.
