BALTIMORE — A dog was found stabbed 11 times in Baltimore and police are trying to figure out who hurt her.
Baltimore Police got a call on Thursday for an injured stray dog. Animal Control responded and found she'd been stabbed 11 times on her back, neck, and along her tail. She was rushed to one of BARCS' partner ER hospitals.
Vetrinarians determined the wounds were inflicted on purpose. X-rays determined that none of her vital organs were impacted by the stabbing but she could lose her tail.
The hospital is calling the dog, Misty, and say her biggest risk moving forward is infection.
The hospital reports that she is soulful and loving, quick to trust and eager to please. They said even though her tail his injured she still wants to wag it.
BARCS is accepting donations for Misty's medical care.
Police are also trying to find out who hurt her. If you have any information call the Baltimore City 311 hotline to file a report.
