One letter can make all the difference.
Eric Philips, a morning anchor in Richmond, Va., began reading a story about a rice cooker recall on air with all seriousness—until he realized a glaring mistake.
"Check your panties," said Philips. "About 175,000 rice..."
He stopped mid-sentence to look at his co-anchor.
"I think that was supposed to be pantries," he said.
There was an error in his script, but he didn't notice the hilarious mistake until it was too late. His co-anchor, Karla Redditte, told Philips she'd noticed, but didn't have time to warn him.
Even though he had a difficult time with Redditte laughing in the background, Philips was able to finish reading the story. The mistake was taken in good humor.
