The iconic rapper Christopher Wallace, better known as the Notorious B.I.G., Biggie Smalls or Biggie, was murdered 19 years ago today.
Biggie, known for 1990s hits including Big Poppa, Juicy and Hypnotize, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.
The murder, which took place about six months after rapper Tupac Shakur was killed, has never been solved.
Since his death, Biggie's music has been sampled by numerous artists including Jay-Z and 50 Cent. A biopic about his life, Notorious, was released in 2009.
