Did you look for Prince's music after hearing about the artist's death Thursday?

Prince albums do not appear on Spotify or Apple Music, according to the Wibbitz Studio. The artist once had this to say to the UK's Mirror about Apple.

“They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it,” Prince told the Mirror.

Prince's views on digital distribution of music stretched far beyond one quote.

“The industry changed,” he said in a 2011 interview with the Guardian. “We made money [online] before piracy was real crazy. Nobody’s making money now except phone companies, Apple and Google. I’m supposed to go to the White House to talk about copyright protection. It’s like the gold rush out there. Or a carjacking. There’s no boundaries. I’ve been in meetings and they’ll tell you, Prince, you don’t understand, it’s dog-eat-dog out there. So I’ll just hold off on recording.”

Prince music is available on Tidal and iTunes, according to the Huffington Post
