WESTMINSTER, CARROLL COUNTY — The pandemic has impacted everyday life, but one thing it has not changed is the giving spirit of a group in Carroll County.

The Shepherd's Staff in Westminster wants to make sure every person has a warm coat to wear.

Their annual Call For Coats runs through mid November.

"Our goal is different this year since we are asking for brand new coats. We know it's a lot to ask. We have the most generous community here in Carroll County. Just to give you an example, we just finished our back to school program which we also do every year. That's usually done in the summer. We usually ask for new backpacks and school supplies, and just over a month and a half we received six hundred brand new backpacks," Karen Rau, Volunteer Coordinator and Project Manager of the Shepherd's Staff, said.

Due to COVID-19, only brand new coats are being accepted. Donations can be easily made through an Amazon wishlist.

You can also call the Sheperd's Staff at 410-857-5944 to setup an appointment to drop off a donation. More information can also be found at The Shepherd's Staff official website.
