BALTIMORE — All day, the Bea Gaddy Family Center has been preparing for Thanksgiving.

It's going to look a lot different this year, but they're still giving back to the community.

Typically they serve 50,000 people. The pandemic means that won't happen.

Cynthia Brooks, their executive director says they weren't able to have the 1,000 volunteers to make that possible.

Instead, they're focusing on our seniors.

But Brooks says she needs delivery drivers to make sure everyone gets the groceries and hot meals her groups is promising.

"We've had to stop accepting requests for meals because we ran out out of drivers," she explained. "But today as soon as possible we are going to accept requests as well as soliciting drivers or those locations."

They are also handing out grab and go meals from 11 to 1 tomorrow.

The grab and go meals will be at both locations:

  • 425 North Chester Street (Bea Gaddy)
  • 819 East Pratt (Bostons Restaurant)
