BEL AIR, HARFORD COUNTY — If you are looking to adopt a pet, a recent rescue out of Harford County might make you consider adding an older animal to your family.
Kristy Dobe of Bel Air worked at the humane society for years and knows firsthand how difficult it is to find homes for older animals. That is why she decided to use her extra time at home during the pandemic to foster Luna Love, a severely neglected 13 year old border collie mix.
Luna Love was rescued from a high kill shelter in Louisiana and taken to Last Chance Animal Rescue in Waldorf. When Kristy saw her picture on Facebook, she knew the dog was meant to become part of her family.
It did not take long for Luna Love to become a foster fail. She has been officially adopted by Kristy and will live her final days surrounded by love and happiness. Kristy hopes Luna Love's story will inspire others to give older dogs a second chance.
