BALTIMORE — For many years, Mollie Witow has attended an opera class at the Community College of Baltimore County's Hunt Valley campus.

But Mollie isn't your average student, she is the most senior member on campus.

On Tuesday, she turns 100-years-old.

Her classmates are planning a special celebration, but due to COVID-19 it will be held virtually.

Mollie arrived in the U.S. on Christmas Day at just six-weeks-old from Danzig, now Belarus.

According to her daughter, Mollie's local roots run deep.

Her parents had a grocery store at the corner of Hudson and Bouldin Streets in Highlandtown. She attended Eastern High then onto Goucher College.

From there, Mollie would become a trained librarian at the Enoch Pratt Free Library. Mollie also did some work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, helping to translate their archives from German into English.

We here at WMAR-2 wish Mollie a very happy 100th birthday.
