COCKEYSVILLE, BALTIMORE COUNTY — If you have been to the dentist recently, you might have noticed an extra charge to cover PPE costs.

Dr. Sharon Whelton is not charging patients the new fee if they donate to her Cockeysville office's food drive. Just last month, Dr. Whelton's patients donated 17 boxes of canned goods, as well household items and hygiene products for St. Gregory's. The collection has been so well received, the office is continuing the effort this December. Dr. Whelton hopes other offices will follow suit and waive the PPE charge for donations to help people struggling during the pandemic.
