BALTIMORE — A nurse from Columbia is being recognized by the Washington Capitals.

Vicki White, a respiratory nurse at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, will be honored as the team's first Blue Star during Saturday's game at the Capital One Arena, against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Capitals player Tom Wilson recently surprised Vicki on video chat, delivering the good news.

Originally, White thought she was supposed to chat with a Caps representative about being part of a video honoring front line workers.

Little did Vicki know that she'd become an honorary member of the game’s starting lineup.

A big thank you and congrats to Vicki from all of us here at WMAR-2 News.
