COCKEYSVILLE, BALTIMORE COUNTY — A Baltimore County man is using an old hobby to stay busy during the pandemic.
Jim Pecunes, of Hunt Valley, has operated the Humidour Cigar Shoppe in Cockeysville for the past 27 years. His daughter is now running the business, so he can stay safe during the pandemic.
Jim's daily routine has switched tracks and he is now the operator of "Zorbaville," a train garden that features well known Baltimore landmarks, and pays tribute to special people and places in Jim's life.
He has spent countless hours in his basement perfecting every piece. The project has become a fun family affair. Jim's son, Michael, helped make the train garden's platforms, and his grandson, Stevie, helped wire everything and setup special effects.
The hard work has certainly paid off and has become a silver lining of the pandemic.
