BALTIMORE — Here's proof that once you're born in Baltimore and leave, the city stays in your heart.

Paul Smeton is from Northwood, he played ball, went to Poly, then College Park and polished off at Loyola.

Now he's living with his family in Harford County putting his money where his heart is.

Instead of criticizing the city about its struggles, Smeton decided to do something co-founded the Legacy Project with Steve Tabling.

The donation based project gives at risk city students the chance for a free Catholic school education.

After searching every corner of Baltimore high and low, the two found St. Casimir's school in Canton where faith, education and family fits.

After only one month, they turned in their first sizable check a few weeks ago.

And there is more where that came from, as St. Casimir paves the way to a better life for many.
