BALTIMORE — Meals On Wheels of Central Maryland received a historic $8 million donation from McKenzie Scott, who is the former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Stephanie Archer-Smith, Executive Director of Meals On Wheels of Central Maryland says the funding could not have come at a better time due to an extremely high demand for help during the pandemic. Meals On Wheels of Central Maryland now serves hot and cold meals to approximately 1,800 people a day. In addition to home deliveries, the organization also provides food to community partners and ultimately provides 75,000 total meals every week.
