The Maryland SPCA ramps efforts to help people and pets in 2021

BALTIMORE — The Maryland SPCA is ramping up efforts to help the community during the pandemic.

The shelter is strongly focusing on keeping pets in their homes through its Kibble Connection Food Pantry. The program provides free pet food to pet owners struggling with finances. The shelter is also helping the community through The Lucy Community Fund. Depsite many obstacles in 2020, The Maryland SPCA was able to find homes for 1,500 animals and feed more than 10,000 animals.

The shelter is partnering with Pets On Wheels to increase future community outreach when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
