BALTIMORE — Every once in a while, a duo comes along that captivates the masses.

On Wednesday, that combination was Old Bay and hot sauce.

The new condiment went on sale online, thousands rushed to order it, the website crashed, and McCormick ran out.

The Tweets started pouring in and Old Bay responded by thanking people and promising that they will soon restock.

WMAR-2 News' Eddie Kadhim went on a mission to find a restaurant that had a bottle, and found Jimmy's Famous Seafood.

Co-Owner Tony Minadakis not only invited us to come get some beauty shots of the hot commodity, but he let us try some on their delicious popcorn shrimp and crab cakes doused in it.

“Old Bay for Marylanders it’s in your house it’s everywhere," said Minadakis. "Sometimes out-of-towners don’t get it or understand it but for us it accumulates in your taste buds.”

Andrew Kopec was born and raised in Baltimore and he was ecstatic to try the sauce when we brought it over to him.

"Lot of flavor on that guy right there," he said. "Let’s go, woo, no that’s awesome though. That’s not overbearing it’s got a lot of flavor.”

If you weren't one of the lucky ones to get your hands on a bottle, don't fret you can keep track of when they are restocked here.
