GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Just after 7 pm on Saturday, a fire broke out at an apartment building at 470 Glen Mar Road.
Responding Anne Arundel County crews found at least 10 people trapped on their balconies.
All were rescued and evaluated. Six ranging from 31 to 66-years-old had to be taken to the hospital.
The fire was under control in about an hour.
Officials say the fire originated in apartment A2. It ended up spreading to 10 other apartments resulting in 23 people being displaced.
The fire caused an estimated $180,000 in damage. Investigators are still looking into the official cause.
