Towson University student collapses, dies after playing basketball

TOWSON, md. — Oluwadamilare “Michael” Oyinloye, a 19-year-old sophomore at Towson University, died Friday evening after playing basketball.

Towson University Police were called to the campus recreation center, Burdick Hall, for a report of a collapsed student who had been playing basketball.

Oyinloye was given CPR and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away.

Oyinloye studied Information Systems. He was a resident student from Odenton, and he attended nearby Meade High School, where he was an honor roll student and student-athlete.

Towson University released this statement, "The campus community deeply mourns this devastating loss and our collective hearts are with Michael’s family and friends."
