BALTIMORE — GBMC HealthCare System on Friday released a taped 30-minute virtual discussion between their President and CEO, Dr. John B. Chessare, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and White House Coronavirus Task Force member.

The two medical experts took part in a Q&A on the recent resurgence of COVID-19.

Tracking and testing were among the main topics as was the status of potential future vaccinations.

Fauci made three major points during the event, including the likelihood of two doses being required in taking a vaccine.

He thinks it's possible that high-risk populations could begin getting vaccinated before the end of 2020.

In his estimation, Fauci believes the country will have to continue social distancing and wearing a mask at least through July next year.

Fauci's final message was if the U.S. continues proper COVID-19 safety measures combined with the flu vaccine, “we could essentially take the flu off the table.”

The conversation was taped prior to President Trump's diagnosis.
