ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The United States Naval Academy on Thursday released an updated academic schedule for the spring semester.
As result, winter break has been lengthened, while the typical spring break will be eliminated.
Spring semester classes are now scheduled to begin January 19 and last through May 5, 2021.
The late start will help with a phased return of the Brigade of Midshipmen, who are dealing with the affects of current COVID-19 travel restrictions.
An additional three-day weekend has also been added on April 5.
Commissioning Week is scheduled to begin immediately following final exams, without the typical break for upperclassmen.
Meanwhile, graduation and commissioning is slated for Friday, May 28.
Specific details and other events will be provided at a later date.
