A Baltimore man has been convicted for the murder of two sisters.
It all started December 20, 2020, when police received calls for a double shooting at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and South Kossuth Street.
Arriving officers found a gray Honda Accord at the stop sign.
On the ground, next to the driver's side, police found Leah Jeter, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Her sister, Kamira Jeter, was discovered wounded in the passenger's side seat. Police believe she was attempting to escape from the car when she was shot.
Kamira died at Shock Trauma while Leah was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reviewed area surveillance footage in which gunfire could be heard, with a woman screaming "Sconey!? You shot her....are you serious Sconey!?"
The sisters then yelled for help while honking the car horn. More gunshots rang out afterwards at which point the screaming stopped.
Detectives soon learned from family members that Kamira was dating a man known as 'Sconey.'
'Sconey' was later identified as Deamonte Spencer, 30. A search warrant of his cell phone placed him at the scene of the shooting.
Spencer was ultimately convicted of two counts of first degree murder, use of a firearm in a crime of violence, and possession of a regulated firearm after a disqualifying conviction.
He faces a max penalty of two life sentences, plus 45 years.
