What's better than ice cream and the Olympics? The Charmery in Hampden debuted a Michael Phelps inspired flavor to honor the most decorated Olympian of all time.
It's called Phelps Phlapjack Gold and it's inspired by one of Phelps' favorite foods: chocolate chip pancakes from Pete's Grille. The Charmery used the pancakes as a base, added in chocolate chips, maple syrup and a golden marshmallow swirl. Gold for Baltimore's Golden Boy.
Curiosity got the best of people and the majority of the customers at The Charmery were there just to try the new ice cream and it was a hit! Almost everyone went back to get a pint to take home after finishing up in the restaurant (myself included!).
This delicious flavor is available for a very limited time. The first batch is 12 gallons and they'll only make one more batch before discontinuing it.
