The polls are closed and the votes are in. Sykesville, Md. has officially been named BudgetTravel.com's "Coolest Small Town in America."

The Carroll County town won the poll by a landslide, beating out second place city Pipestone, Minn. by more than 20 percent.

Fifteen finalists were the running, including Taos, NM and Asbury Park, NJ. Budget Travel held the contest in search of "travel-inspiring American towns with a population under 20,000 and that certain 'something' that no place else has."
