ESSEX, Md. — Baltimore County Police are investigating a double shooting in Essex.

Officers arrived on scene to the Unit Block of Glenwood Road early Wednesday afternoon.

The first victim, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police later confirmed a second victim walked into a local hospital for treatment.

"It's a sad situation," Baltimore County Police Det. Anthony Shelton told WMAR, "because unfortunately there's at least one family right now who's going to be preparing for a funeral tomorrow."

Shelton said the victims were ages 22 and 19, both men. The 22-year-old, identified as Philip Pasingda, was pronounced dead at the hopsital, and the 19-year-old was out of surgery and stable Wednesday night. At least 15 shots were fired, Shelton told WMAR.

Shelton said several aspects of the shooting are still under the investigation, including whether the incident involved one shooter or an exchange of gunfire, and whether one or both of the victims were perpetrators.

"Our detectives are going to be working very hard through the holiday to try and bring a resolution to this case," Shelton added.
