According to it's Facebook page, Dougie's BBQ & Grill will be closing it's doors tonight after 12-plus years in the community.
The closing appears to be a sudden development, as the previous post on the Pikesville restaurant's social media feed introduced a new menu item yesterday.
Two employees who spoke to WMAR-2 News on Friday afternoon confirmed that they weren't told the restaurant was closing until Thursday.
"I really feel disrespected, which is really unfortunate because most of my time working at Dougie's, it has been very pleasant," said Yehudis, a 16-year-old who was working to save up for college and help her mom cover day-to-day expenses.
Chris Caccamisi also found out about the restaurant's closure from the Facebook post.
"I wasn't too fond of that," he said.
Another employee, who wished to remain anonymous, but who's employment we've verified, said they'd been hearing rumors about the restaurant closing for years. He called the mashgiach, the person who makes sure items are prepared in a kosher way, who confirmed it.
None were given a firm reason as to why the restaurant closed.
We've reached out to the restaurant for a statement on why the restaurant closed and we are awaiting on a response.
