Update per MTA:
Metro SubwayLink service has resumed between Owings Mills and West Coldspring stations. Train service from Mondawmin to Johns Hopkins stations continues to be discontinued with shuttle bus service in place to accommodate patrons from Mondawmin to Johns Hopkins making all station stops in between. We are asking customers to please plan ahead and allow extra times for your travels as we work diligently to restore normal Metro service.
Original Story:
All MTA metro subway train service has been temporarily suspended due to a pair of station incidents.
An initial advisory was issued at 1:30pm and appears to be in effect until 7 Friday evening.
According to the MTA, smoke from a brush fire on I-795 impacted the Owings Mills subway station.
Meanwhile around the same time, a subway train experienced a smoking propulsion motor which effected operations at the Johns Hopkins and Shot Tower stations.
No one was hurt in either incident.
For now riders are being provided with shuttle bus service from Owings Mills to Johns Hopkins, including all regular stops in between.
