BROOKLYN PARK, Md. — Police have charged a 70-year-old man in connection with a shooting in Brooklyn Park on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to the unit block of Park Place at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday.
According to police, the caller indicated that a man had just shot another man inside a home.
Investigators revealed that the suspect, who is identified as George Albert Summers, and the victim were engaged in a verbal argument moments before the shooting.
Police say Summers told the victim that he would break down the door and kill him.
A witness at the residence then heard a gunshot.
When they arrived at the scene, officers found the suspect, who was already waiting for them, and took him into custody.
The victim inside the residence was taken to an area trauma center to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
Charging documents say that Summers admitted that the shooting happened after an ongoing parking dispute.
The investigation is still ongoing and police is asking for anyone with information to contact (410) 222-4731 or the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line (410) 222-4700.
