MARYLAND SPCA - GROOMING TIPS — Grooming can help your pet look nice, but it's also beneficial to their health. Some animals can be grooming-adverse, so the Maryland SPCA has some great tips.

Use a grooming mitt if your pet doesn't like to be brushed. This helps clean fur and keeps skin healthy. If you have a dog with a think coat, make sure you're getting under the top coat and removing tangles.

You can use a damp, warm rag to gently clean fur if your pet won't deal well with a bath. Use positive reinforcement like treats to help them get used to bathing.

Long nails can curl under and into the paw pads, causing pain. Trim your pets nails regularly. Cats can use a scratching post with rough edges to keep their nails short!
