The Curtis National Hand Center at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is the largest and most sophisticated hand center in the nation. The facility uses cutting edge technology and therapies to diagnose, treat, and repair injuries and diseases of the hand, wrist, arm, and elbow.
Recently, the Curtis National Hand Center was the first to develop a microsurgery to repair damage from Keinbock's Disease, a painful condition that causes the bones in the wrist to crumble and collapse. Left untreated, Keinbock's Disease can cause chronic pain, arthritis, and loss of mobility.
