November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. The Liver and Pancreas Center at UM St. Joseph Medical Center is the only facility of its kind in Maryland and the region--a program that treats patients with complex diseases related to pancreatic cancer, primary liver cancer, metastatic colorectal cancer, and bile duct cancer.
Designated a Pancreatic Cancer Center by the National Pancreatic Foundation, the UM St. Joseph Liver and Pancreas Center features a team of expert specialists--including surgeons, medical oncologists, GI specialists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, anesthesiologists, genetic counselors, nutritionists, nurse navigators, pain management specialists, integrative health practitioners and more--who work together to treat the "whole patient."
The Center is proud to offer world-class pancreatic cancer treatment in a community-based setting--care that puts patients first and gives them access to expert providers; advanced, compassionate, individualized care; and integrative/wellness therapies that address the needs of the body, mind and spirit.
