White-Rodgers recalls thermostats

White-Rodgers is recalling its Emerson Branded Sensi WiFi thermostats because they can catch fire if the thermostat wires have contact with household line voltage.

There have been 8 reports of burn damage to thermostats and minor property damage.

The thermostats are white with an LCD screen and were manufactured between the 16th week of 2014 through the 36th week of 2015.

You can check on the manufacturing date by finding a code on the back of the device. For the 16th week of 2014, the code will be 1416.

The thermostats were sold at Home Depot stores nationwide.

Anyone who has them should contact White-Rodgers for a repair or replacement.
