More Wintry Weather On The Way

Posted
and last updated

Some like it hot and some like it snowy and cold. And if you are one of those people who loves the snow and cold, you are in luck, as this weather is on the way for Maryland over the next few days. And it all starts Tuesday.

On Tuesday, a quick moving storm system will begin to arrive from the west. This system will first bring high clouds and then eventually rain by the middle of the day. After that, cold air begins to move in with the system leading to a quick change over from rain to snow. The snow will be around for the evening commute, making it a tough one, so plan accordingly.

The snow will continue through the evening, with snow accumulation for everyone ranging between 1 and 3 inches. Area farther to the northwest, in particular, in mountainous areas, could measure higher amounts.

Once the snow moves out, cold air will continue to filter into the region, with breezy conditions on Wednesday, followed by bone-chilling, possible record-setting cold for Thursday morning. The cold will stick around through Friday morning, before temperatures start to moderate.

By Sunday high temperatures are forecasts to reach the upper 40s and low 50s across the state.

Stayed tuned for more updates on the wintry weather that is headed our way this week.
